RONALD McDONALD HOUSE OF LONG ISLAND “A Taste of Project Design” Gala
Alena Capra Designs was one of 21 Design Firms to participate in Project Design 2015, creating a 10′ x 10′ vignette for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island’s Annual Gala. All of the items in each vignette were for sale at the event, with all proceeds to going to the RMHLI. Alena created a sports themed vignette, with everything from signed sports memorabilia, to oversized football, basketball, and baseball ottomans. A very special thank you goes out to all those who donated items for the vignette, including: Joseph & Linda Capra, Robern, Turf Tek, Jellio, Kravet, Touchdown Gifts, Allison Eden Studios, Upholstery USA, Remix Tees, Lighting Design Company, Beddys, All Canes, E Lawrence Ltd., Global Views, Floor & Decor, Pratt Frames, Jason White Creative, Miss Fanatic, John Coco Law, and to all the current and former NFL and MLB athletes who contributed autographed merchandise. Thank you to Chris Ferrara of Handy Fellas Construction for helping out with the installation of the vignette. All of the vignettes looked amazing, and raised money for such a special place!
KID SANCTUARY CAMPUS
On August 1, 2015, the Kid Sanctuary Campus “Sam’s Boys Cottage” held its Grand Opening Event. Alena was one of 18 Interior Designers chosen to design a room for the new Boys Cottage, which is a home for children in foster care, located in West Palm Beach. She designed an “Under the Sea” themed room. This is the third Kid Sanctuary Campus Home that has been built, and it was such a special project to be part of.
Special thanks to all of the companies who generously donated merchandise:
Wayfair (area rugs), Upholstery USA (headboards, pillows, poufs, and drapes), Tile Bar (accent wall tile), Lighting Design Company (light fixture), Robern (mirror). Also a very special thank you to Joseph and Linda Capra. Check out the news story here!
