On March 27th, the Big Home Makeover episode of Designing Spaces that we worked on finally aired! (On Lifetime). In this episode, we worked the makeover of a kitchen, butler’s pantry, and laundry room for Mark & Mary, and their 3 girls.
Over the course of the makeover, we made trips to Capitol Lighting, Bedrosians Tile & Stone, and Benjamin Moore (Boca Raton Decorating Center) to select what we needed to transform the space! We also worked with Innovation Cabinetry to select beautiful cabinets for all of the areas being remodeled.
The Laundry Room was painted Intense White OC-51 (Benjamin Moore), one of my favorite soft grays. We choose cabinetry in a beautiful blue/grey tone, with a shaker door style, and brushed nickel hardware. The countertops were from the Bedrosians “Sequel” quartz collection….so they require no maintenance and won’t stain! An added bonus for any laundry room! For the backsplash, I chose a silver/grey metallic glass brick, set in a subway pattern. The best part of this makeover…..was working with Wall Keepers to preserve a sentimental painting on the original walls….check out the episode to see what we did for that.
For the Butler’s Pantry and Kitchen, the same cream colored cabinetry was used, along with a beautiful white countertop, also from Bedrosian’s “Sequel” quartz collection. The walls were painted in “Alpaca,” from Benjamin Moore. I used a sparkly wallpaper from Romo, and a stone mosaic with a hint of pearl on the backsplash in the butler’s pantry, as I wanted this room to be a little “jewel box”.
In the kitchen and breakfast area, nickel and acrylic chandeliers from Hinkley lighting were used, which we found at Capitol Lighting. It was a big change from the original fixtures, which were darker bronze. We also reupholstered the seat cushions of the chairs to tie in the new neutral tones.
It was such great transformation, and it was wonderful working with all of the vendors who helped make this beautiful. Ryan and the install team did a fantastic job getting the entire makeover done in time! Special thanks to all of the sponsors, as well as some of my local vendors who contributed such as Romo (DCOTA), Upholstery USA, and Walls by Craig.
